Essential Information: Bunkers del Carmel Opening Hours
The Bunkers del Carmel at Turó de la Rovira is a top destination for those seeking breathtaking views of Barcelona. Please note that since May 2, 2023, the site is closed at night. While it used to be open 24/7, the city decided to regulate the hours to prevent noise and disturbances for local residents caused by nighttime parties.
There are now specific opening hours to keep in mind. Note that the outdoor grounds and the Bunker Museum have different schedules. Most visitors are primarily interested in the grounds, as this is where you can enjoy the famous panoramic views. The museum offers an exhibition on the site’s history; while it’s a smaller attraction, I personally found it very interesting. You can find photos and updates on the official homepage, but here are the details:

Can you still see the sunset at Bunkers del Carmel?
Not really. The Bunkers were once considered the best spot for sunset, but due to the new hours, the gates now close before the sun goes down. Unfortunately, you can no longer watch the sun set over the Barcelona skyline from here—a change largely due to past party crowds.
How much time you should plan to visit on the Turó de la Rovira?
Most visitors spend about one hour at the Bunkers. It’s a great place to sit quietly, take in the view, or even have a picnic. If you are interested in the history, allow an extra 20–30 minutes for the museum; the historical photos showing how the site used to look are well worth seeing. Don’t forget to factor in travel time: depending on where you start, it usually takes about 30 minutes to reach the top.
